Budweiser, Coinbase Partner to Give Free Bitcoin to Concert Attendees

Budweiser is partnering with San Francisco-based bitcoin payments platform Coinbase to bring the benefits of bitcoin payments to Budweiser Made in America concerts.

Concert-goers can now receive $10 worth of free Bitcoin when they purchase tickets for select Budweiser concerts. To qualify, attendees must register for a free CoinBase wallet and opt-in to the partnership while purchasing tickets. Once registered, attendees will be credited with $10 worth of Bitcoin and may spend it at participating concession stands.

Concert-goers can spend their free bitcoin at the newly installed concession stands at the festival, or they can keep it for later use in any establishment that accepts bitcoin.

To take advantage of the promotion, concert-goers must register on the website of the BMIA Concert Series. Once registered, concert-goers will receive an invitation to create a Coinbase wallet, containing $10 worth of bitcoin. The promotion is limited to US residents and excludes those who reside in Texas and California. Concertgoers must be 18 years or older to qualify.

The promotion is part of Coinbase’s new user incentive program. Coinbase will offer $10 worth of free bitcoin to college students at the top 500 colleges and universities. The partnership aims to introduce Bitcoin to a younger demographic and increase the chances of the digital currency becoming a mainstream currency.
