LINE launches a new NFT marketplace in Japan

Japan-based messaging app operator Line has launched a blockchain and cryptocurrency marketplace for non-fungible token trading. The platform, called NFT, is operated by its subsidiary, LVC Corporation. Through this platform, users can trade crypto-tokens.

LINE operator and its steps to enter the NFT market

In June 2011, NHN Japan launched LINE. It was targeted toward the country’s consumers and offered free calls and texting as well as video calls. In 2013, it became the country’s largest social network, with more than 300 million users. Nowadays, almost all of Japan’s adult population uses a messaging app called LINE. It’s one of the most popular apps in the country, ahead of YouTube and Yahoo!

The operator of the platform, LVC Corporation, launched the LINE NFT token. It’s a non-fungible token that’s available only in Japan. Through its platform, users can access a variety of content, such as exclusive videos from Japanese anime producer Yoshimoto Kogyo. Other popular characters from Patlabor the Mobile Police and other anime series can also be added to the list.

The launch of LINE NFT

On April 13, 2022, LINE opened more opportunities in the NFT world for its users. The NFT marketplace of the company is located in Japan. It allows users to easily buy and trade NFTs. They can store their acquired coins in their BITMAX Wallet – a digital asset management wallet, which can be accessed through their account. They can also easily send and receive NFTs through the company’s app. In the future, LVC will work with other groups to provide its users with more experiences related to NFTs.

In a statement on April 13, LVC said that it would sell about 40,000 NFTs, including tokens for the anime series “Mobile Police Patlabor” and “Betakkuma,” on the platform. It also noted that it would showcase an NFT that pays tribute to Japanese gymnast Kohei Uchimura. The platform can be accessed through the messaging app Line, which has over 90 million users in Japan.

In the first half of 2022, the global NFT platform Line Next will launch a new platform called “DOSI.” This will allow creators and business operators to build their stores and communities on the platform. They will also be provided with marketing support and production assistance.
